B-25 "Georgie's Gal" to attend the 75th Anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid Events in Dayton, Ohio, this April 17 & 18.
Liberty Aviation Museum’s B-25 Mitchell bomber “Georgie’s Gal” is scheduled to attend the 75th Anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid events this coming April 17th & 18th in Dayton, Ohio. The anniversary event begins April 15 & 16 at Grimes Field & Champaign Aviation Museum in Urbana, Ohio. “Georgie’s Gal” is scheduled to arrive (weather permitting) on Sunday, April 16th, 2017 at Grimes Field along with the other B-25’s arriving for the commemoration anniversary. At this time, 17 B-25’s from all across the country have confirmed their attendance for this historic event. The B-25s will depart from Urbana, Ohio, at 7am and will fly to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for public display between 10am-4:30pm on Monday and 9am-Noon on Tuesday, April 18th. The bombers will depart the airfield and perform a flyover prior to the memorial service and the wreath laying ceremony in the museum’s Memorial Park at 2:30pm in remembrance of the 75th Anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid. When visiting the museum, be sure to dine at this fully restored, vintage 1950's Tin Goose Diner. All proceeds from this diner help fund the operation of the Liberty Aviation Museum.
The Liberty Aviation Museum is also home to the Tri-Motor Heritage Foundation's restoration project.
